OVERVIEW

The intermolecular force causes the liquid to produce interfacial tension or surface tension. The value of the tension can directly reflect the liquid’s physical and chemical properties and the material’s composition structure. It is one of the key indicators many related industries use to evaluate product quality. This interfacial tension meter is based on the working principle of the ring method (also known as the platinum ring method), which can accurately measure the surface tension of various liquids (i.e., liquid-gas interfacial tension) and the interfacial tension of liquids (liquid-liquid interfacial tension). This measurement method has been widely used in the industry due to its significant advantages, such as simple operation and high measurement accuracy.

CHARACTERISTIC

  • 1. This interfacial tension meter uses a Wien bridge sine wave oscillator constructed with a high-precision, high-speed operational amplifier with low distortion and easy debugging characteristics.
  • 2. It is easy to operate, stable, and reliable. It can measure liquid-gas surface and liquid-liquid interfacial tension under non-equilibrium conditions and automatically calculate the tension value.
  • 3. Equipped with a new optimized magnetic tank closed electromagnetic force balance sensor, which improves the response speed and linearity.
  • 4. The new sensor only requires single-point calibration, which solves the problem of multi-point calibration in the previous generation to ensure linearity and accuracy.
  • 5. The built-in microprocessor performs bidirectional compensation according to the working temperature, taking 25°C as the benchmark, which can meet the requirements of various laboratory ambient temperatures.

FAQ

Q: What is a tension meter used for?

A: A tension meter is an instrument designed to measure the tension or force exerted on wires, cables, textiles, mechanical belts, and other materials.

Q: What device is used to measure surface tension or interfacial tension?

A: Interfacial tension meters are instruments used to measure surface tension and interfacial tension. They are widely utilized in research and development labs to evaluate the surface tension of liquids like coatings, lacquers, and adhesives.

Q: How do you measure interfacial tension?

A: Interfacial tension can be measured using either optical or force tensiometers. It plays a crucial role in industrial processes where two immiscible liquids, a liquid and a solid, are in contact. These measurements help understand the behavior at the interface, which is essential for optimizing various applications.
