Product Features

1.The instrument uses a three-phase precision inverter technology to reduce the influence of power supply harmonics, ensuring higher measurement accuracy. Even when powered by a generator, the test results remain stable and reliable.

2. The three-phase output voltage design improves testing efficiency and shortens measurement time. It can measure phase angles and automatically recognize transformer vector groups from 0 to 11. For low-voltage rectifier transformers with multiple windings, the low-voltage side can measure the transformation ratio and 7.5° phase angle deviation without disconnecting the wiring.

3. The equipment is designed for various types of transformers, including Z-type transformers, rectifier transformers, grounding transformers, electric furnace transformers, phase-shifting transformers, balance transformers, Scott transformers, reverse Scott transformers, and other special transformer applications.

4. Multiple protection functions are integrated into the tester, including high/low voltage reverse connection protection, transformer inter-turn short circuit protection, incorrect tap changer position protection, and output short circuit protection, improving operational safety and instrument reliability.

5. After entering the transformer rated parameters, the device can automatically calculate the transformation ratio, ratio error, and tap changer position. It can accurately detect the actual tap position even for transformers with asymmetric tap connections and supports measurement of up to 99 tap positions.

6. The TTR tester is equipped with a 7-inch high-resolution color touchscreen LCD. The user interface provides clear menu guidance for each operation step, allowing users to complete testing easily without complicated instructions.

7. The transformer turns ratio testing equipment supports multiple data output methods, including built-in printing, USB flash drive export, and RS232 communication interface, enabling convenient paperless data management.

8. The tester comes with a durable engineering plastic case designed for field applications. The enclosure features temperature resistance, waterproof sealing, impact protection, and drop resistance, ensuring reliable performance in harsh testing environments.

FAQs

Q1: What is a transformer turns ratio tester used for?

A: A transformer turns ratio tester is used to measure the turns ratio, voltage ratio error, and phase angle deviation of power transformers. It helps engineers verify transformer performance, winding conditions, and tap changer operation during manufacturing, installation, and maintenance.

Q2: How does a TTR tester improve transformer ratio measurement accuracy?

A: A TTR tester with a three-phase precision inverter can reduce the influence of power supply harmonics and provide more stable test voltage. This helps achieve accurate transformer ratio measurement even when the equipment is powered by a generator.

Q3: Can a transformer ratio tester work with a generator power supply?

A: Yes. The precision inverter technology used in the TTR tester minimizes the impact of generator voltage fluctuations and harmonics, allowing reliable transformer ratio testing in field environments without a stable mains supply.

Q4: Can a TTR tester automatically identify transformer vector groups?

A: Yes. Advanced transformer turns ratio testers can measure phase angles and automatically identify transformer vector groups from 0 to 11, reducing manual calculation and improving testing efficiency.

Q5: Can a transformer turns ratio tester measure multi-winding transformers?

A: Yes. The tester can measure transformers with multiple windings, including low-voltage rectifier transformers. It can measure transformation ratio and phase angle deviation without removing existing wiring in some applications.

Q6: What types of transformers can be tested by a TTR tester?

A: A professional TTR tester can be used for various transformer types, including:

  • Power transformers
  • Z-type transformers
  • Rectifier transformers
  • Grounding transformers
  • Electric furnace transformers
  • Phase-shifting transformers
  • Balance transformers
  • Scott transformers
  • Reverse Scott transformers

Q7: Can a transformer ratio tester measure tap changer positions automatically?

A: Yes. After entering transformer rated parameters, the tester can automatically calculate the transformation ratio, ratio error, and tap changer position. It can accurately identify tap positions, including transformers with asymmetric tap connections.

Q8: How many tap positions can a transformer TTR tester measure?

A: Some advanced transformer ratio testers can measure up to 99 tap changer positions, making them suitable for transformers with complex tap changer configurations.

Q9: Why is tap changer testing important during transformer maintenance?

A: Tap changer testing helps confirm whether the transformer voltage regulation system operates correctly. Incorrect tap positions or connection problems may affect transformer output voltage and system reliability.

Q10: What protection functions should a transformer turns ratio tester have?

A: A reliable TTR tester should include multiple protection functions, such as:

  • High and low voltage reverse connection protection
  • Transformer inter-turn short circuit protection
  • Tap changer position error protection
  • Output short circuit protection

These protections improve operator safety and equipment stability.
