OVERVIEW

In the power transformer production and new installation before operation, according to the national power sector preventive testing requirements, are required to carry out the turns ratio (voltage ratio) is tested to check the turns ratio, tap-changing, turn-to-turn short-circuit and parallel operation, and so on. The traditional ratio bridge test has shortcomings: the readings are not intuitive, need to be converted manually and measured phase by phase, and they have low efficiency. Our Wrindu RDB-IIH portable transformer ratio test kit is optimized for these problems: simple operation, intuitive interface, three-phase precision inverter power supply technology, fast test speed, accurate and reliable results, and practicality.

CHARACTERISTIC

  • 1. The instrument uses a three-phase precision inverter power supply, eliminating harmonic interference in the mains voltage and ensuring more accurate measurement results. The measurement accuracy will not be affected even if a generator power supply is used.
  • 2. The use of three-phase output voltage not only improves the testing speed but also automatically recognizes the transformer’s wiring group (0 to 11)..
  • 3. It is applicable to many types of transformers, including Z-type transformers, rectifier transformers, grounded transformers, furnace transformers, phase-shifting transformers, and balanced transformers. The measurement parameters are very comprehensive and meet the needs of different scenarios.
  • 4. The portable transformer ratio test kit has multiple protection functions, such as high and low-voltage reverse connection protection, transformer turn-to-turn short circuit protection, tap changer tap-open and close not-in-place protection, and output complete short circuit protection.
  • 5. After inputting the transformer’s rated parameters, the instrument can automatically measure the ratio value, the error value, and the position of the on-load tap changer. Even if the tap changer is not symmetrical, the position of the tap changer can be measured accurately, and up to 99 tap positions can be measured.
  • 6. Equipped with a 7-inch high-definition color touchscreen LCD, the interface is user-friendly, with menu prompts for each operation step. Users do not need to consult the manual or follow the screen prompts to complete the operation efficiently.
  • 7. Our portable transformer ratio test kit has a Built-in non-power-down clock and data storage function, supports U disk storage, and is convenient for users to access and save test data anytime.
  • 8. Compact size, lightweight, designed to facilitate hand-held operation, and very suitable for on-site use.

FAQ

Q: What is the most accurate method to determine transformer turns ratio?

A: Determining the transformer turns ratio is vital for understanding voltage relationships between primary and secondary windings. Methods include Turns Ratio Test, Vector Group Test, Voltage Ratio Test, Inductance Measurement, and Winding Resistance Test, each with specific equipment and procedures. The method choice depends on factors like transformer type and required accuracy.

Q: How does a TTR tester work?

A: A TTR (Turns Ratio Test) tester applies a known voltage to a transformer’s primary winding while measuring the induced voltage in the secondary winding. This allows for calculating the turns ratio, providing a quick assessment of the transformer’s health and performance.

Q: What is the fail test for transformer turns ratio?

A: The turns ratio test is a fundamental component of routine transformer inspections, providing valuable insights into the condition of the windings, including issues such as shorted turns. International standards prescribe a pass/fail threshold for turn ratio deviations, typically set at ±0.5%. This criterion ensures conformity to performance standards and facilitates the identification of deviations that may indicate problems within the winding structure.
